AHMEDABAD: A major fire was reported in an ink manufacturing unit -- '
Gama Frame' located in Vijay industrial estate near Memcro cross road of the Naroda area of city on late Saturday night.
Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) officials said that no loss of human life was reported in the incident but properties worth around Rs 10 lakh were gutted in the fire.
"The fire broke out from the ink manufacturing unit with a blast and later it started spreading to surrounding cotton- bales godown. 15 fire fighters had to sprinkle water and foam for around two to three hours to control the
blaze," said an official.
The fire was erupted from the ink as it contains solvent and other inflammable elements but the source of the spark that caused this major fire is yet not known, said the fire official. He added that probability of short circuit is ruled out because the factory was closed for last two days.
"A team of FSL has also been roped into find the cause of the fire " said officials.
