Vadodara: M S University’s largest faculty – the Faculty of Commerce – wants to speed up its admission process for the first year Bachelors of Commerce (BCom).
For the first time, the scrutiny and verification of all the aspirants will be carried out simultaneously at all the four units of the faculty.
The faculty has so far received around 7,000 online applications for FY BCom for which it will start on the spot admission process from June 18.
“We have around 5,600 seats in FY BCom. Looking at the number of registrations done by aspirants, we believe, we will witness a similar trend of admissions like we had seen last year,” said professor Dinkar Nayak, dean of Faculty of Commerce.
The faculty has decided that local girl students who have secured 75 % and above will be admitted to the girls college, whereas boys who have scored 62 % and above and the girl students who have scored between 62 % and 74 % will be admitted to the main building.
Similarly, those local students who have secured between 45 % and 61 % will be admitted to the higher payment unit, while those who have scored below 44 % will be admitted to Padra college.
For students from outside Vadodara, the girl students who have scored above 80 % will be admitted to the girls’ college, whereas the boys who have scored above 80% will be admitted to the main building. Outside students who have scored between 55 % and 79 % will be admitted to the higher payment unit, while those who have secured below 55 % will be admitted to the Padra college.
“Earlier, the scrutiny and verification of forms used to happen only at the main building. But this time, we will be carrying out scrutiny and verification at all the four units including girls college, main building, higher payment unit and Padra college simultaneously to complete the process quickly,” he said.
