PATNA: RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav lashed out at state party chief Ram Chandra Purbey again on Sunday for ignoring him and other youth workers, but denied any rift in the family.

Earlier, it was reported that there were differences between him and younger sibling Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, who has been virtually heading the party ever since Lalu has been incarcerated in fodder scam cases.

Coinciding with Tej’s outbursts, Tejashwi said that his elder brother was his guide and that he was only talking about strengthening the organisation before upcoming elections.

“There is a rumour regarding family infighting. No one is fighting. I have nothing against Tejashwi. But Purbey is ignoring workers. I won’t allow this,” Tej told reporters, alleging that Purbey “has developed an ego” after becoming an MLC recently. “He does not even meet workers at the party office,” Tej said.

Sources said Tej was miffed over the delay in giving a party position to close aide Rajendra Paswan, who was finally appointed state general secretary a couple of days ago.

Purbey refused to comment on the issue, saying, “Ek line bhi nahi bol sakte (Cannot say even a sentence).”
