Telangana Congress MLC, former MLAs join TRS

HYDERABAD: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao asked the Congress party leaders to withdraw the cases filed before various Courts allegedly opposing construction of irrigation projects in Mahbubnagar district. He then called upon Congress leaders to embrace the pink party in order to develop the new State on all fronts.

Congress MLC from Nagarkurnool district K Damodar Reddy, ex-MLAs- Edma Krishna Reddy (Kalwakurthy) and VM Abraham (Alampur), along with their followers joined the ruling TRS in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan here on Saturday. 
Later, they were all formally inducted into the pink party by Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and Finance Minister E Rajender at the party headquarters, Telangana Bhavan, here. 

While addressing the gathering, Harish alleged that the Congress Party had become a stumbling block to the development of the State. “Congress Party had ignored the development of Telangana in the erstwhile united State, during its rule in the past 60 years. Even after formation of the new State, the party leaders are creating hurdles for the development of Telangana, by opposing construction of irrigation projects,” he criticised.

Harish predicted that the ruling TRS will win maximum number of Assembly seats in the erstwhile united Mahbubnagar district in the 2019 polls, as people are ready to teach a befitting lesson to the Congress Party.
