2017 BioCap Pitching Competition Winner Announced

Bionow are delighted to announce PharmaKrysto as the winner of the 2017 BioCap Company Pitching Competition. PharmaKrysto’s goal is to prevent children and adults from experiencing pain, surgery and kidney failure as a result of cystinuria. This is a rare genetic condition that causes frequent kidney stone formation. They aim to develop a new, oral medication. PharmaKrysto has in-licenced innovative, patented, stone-disrupting molecules and will make this available to patients through regulatory approval. This family of novel molecules has shown its ability to stop crystal stones in animal models of cystinuria. We found the quality of all the pitches to be extremely high and found it difficult to select a winner but the PharmaKrysto application just edged it.”The BioCap Company Pitching Competition is a fantastic opportunity for companies who are seeking investment, to present to the international life science investment community, more than 60 of whom were present at the event. The event is organised by Bionow in partnership with RSM, Appleyard Lees and Slater Heelis and is sponsored by Catapult Ventures and Manchester Science Partnerships. In total nearly 200 delegates attended the event making this the largest and only gathering focused on life science investment in the North of England. The event has been running for 5 years and has successfully brought together international investors and companies resulting in greater funding into companies in the North of England.
