GURUGRAM: DTCP is planning a drive to bring down unauthorised
structures in
illegal colonies in the Sohna-Farrukhnagar development plan area.
A survey is being conducted to identify illegal construction in Pataudi,
Sohna, Bhondsi,
Farrukhnagar and Sahjawas. Nearly 25 fully-built structures and 10
colonies have already been identified. The drive will continue till June-end.
Officials said that even fully-built and inhabited illegal structures were to be demolished without prior notice. Till now, only under-construction illegal structures or walls were demolished after issuing of notices.
This decision comes after an inquiry by the deputy commissioner revealed that several colonies in the Sohna-Farrukhnagar development plan area did not fall under “urban area” and hence, getting a NOC to obtain plot registry was not mandatory. The DC then ordered the sub-divisional magistrates to declare 53 villages as “urban area”. “Once that is done, a NOC will be necessary for plot registry and that will alert DTCP about unauthorised construction,” said Rajender Sharma, DTP (enforcement).
