In a shocking incident, Jodhpur police arrested a man for allegedly killing his four-year-old daughter to please God.
The accused, identified as Nawab Ali Qureshi, had slit the throat of her minor daughter as an offering to please God.
"The accused has confessed that he has sacrificed his daughter to please God. He said the devil had possessed him and he sacrificed what was most dear to him," Sub-Inspector Rajesh Khadav said.
The matter came to light when the victim's mother found the blood-soaked body in their house on Thursday night.
The accused had purportedly killed his daughter when the whole family was asleep on the terrace.
