MEERUT: Six passengers, including four women, were killed after a truck rammed into a stationary roadways bus on NH 91 in Bulandshahr during wee hours of Sunday morning. The casualties include Sunita Devi, Aradhana Chauhan, Anjali and Anil, residents of Agra. Sunita, a resident of Aligarh, and the driver of the bus, Siyaram Tyagi, died on the spot.
According to the officials, the UPSRTC bus coming from Agra was Haridwar-bound with most of the passengers on a pilgrimage to take 'holy dip' in Haridwar. The incident happened when the bus broke down because of flat tyre that burst and the passenger were stranded on the busy highway in Bulandshahr's Kotwali Dehat.

speeding truck hit the bus from behind and almost destroyed a portion of the bus in the impact. While six died on the spot, more than a dozen, injured in varying degrees, were rushed to the nearest hospital after rescue operation was pressed in action. "Condition of some injured remains critical. The families of the deceased as well as the ones injured have been informed," a district official said.
