Pakistan, China to strengthen strategic ties

Mamnoon Hussain, who is on a visit to China, held a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart on Saturday, where they discussed Pakistan-bilateral relations and regional, global issues of mutual interest.

Hussain was invited by Xi to participate in the 18th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting.

Hussain congratulated Xi on hosting the SCO summit and supported the Chinese chairmanship for the same while the latter appreciated for its proactive participation in SCO.

The two leaders also agreed to contribute towards economic development of Pakistan and to explore ways to improve the balance of bilateral trade.

The two-day SCO summit kicked off on Saturday. It is being attended by India, Pakistan, Russia, among other allies.
