Three coaches, including the pantry car, of the Mumbai-Howrah Mail derailed near Igatpuri station in Maharashtra on Sunday. The incident occurred around 2.05 a.m. There were no casualties or injuries due to the incident and all three coaches were re-railed by 7 a.m.
“Three coaches of 12809 Mumbai-Howrah Mail via Nagpur i.e. coach S-12, S-13 and pantry car derailed near Igatpuri. There were no injuries to any passenger. Due to this, the Down main line and the middle line were blocked. The Up main line remained safe,” said Sunil Udasi, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway.
Three trains were diverted via Pune-Daund-Manmad route which include the 11057 CSMT-Amritsar Express, 15645 LTT-Guwahati Express and the 12167 LTT-Varanasi Express. Four trains were rerouted through the Vasai Road-Surat-Jalgaon which included the 11093 CSMT-Varanasi Mahanagari Express, 12141 LTT-Patliputra Express, 15066 Panvel-Gorakhpur Express and the 12811 LTT-Hatia Express.
