A high alert has been sounded in all the police stations of steel and coal belt (Bokaro- Dhanbad) of the State and security arrangements have been beefed up seeing 24-hour bandh call.

Officers-in-charge especially of Nawadih, Gomia, Bokaro thermal and Petarwar police stations were asked to keep extra vigil as these areas are still the strong zone of naxalites and time and again the maoists try to disturb the normal life in this zone.

“Patrolling by security forces were intensified in Naxal-hit areas and a strict vigil kept to ensure that nothing untoward takes place during the bandh,” informed DSP City, Bokaro. More than 80 per cent of railway stations in Jharkhand fall in the Maoist-infested zone, informed the railway officials.
