A portion of a building that was undergoing renovation collapsed on Krishna Menon Marg, near Vayu Sena Bhawan, on Friday evening. No one was injured in the incident and the debris was removed within an hour, said the police.

A police official said that the building was part of the Vayu Sena Bhawan complex.

A fire department official said that they received a call about the collapse at 5.30 p.m. and fire tenders along with rescue teams were dispatched immediately.

The building, located in J-Block opposite Vayu Sena Bhawan, was undergoing renovation when its ground and first floors collapsed, said the officials. The block was built in 1942 and was being revamped.

The police said that there was nobody inside the structure when it collapsed. The labourers who were working near the building were the ones who informed officials about the collapse.
