A day after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath suspended two IAS officers a delegation of the IAS Association met Chief Secretary Rajiv Kumar and requested him to withdraw suspension letters as due procedure was not followed while issuing suspension order.

Secretary UP IAS Association Alok Kumar said that the delegation tried to impress upon Chief Secretary with the fact that the way two IAS officers were suspended was violation of Service Rules and thus, it should be withdrawn.

“The two officers, who were posted as District Magistrates, were good officers and such stringent action will send a bad message among the bureaucracy,” Kumar said.

Chief Minister had suspended District Magistrate Gonda J B Singh and DM Fatehpur Kumar Prashant over food grain scam and non purchase of wheat.

While issuing suspension order Chief Minister in a statement had said the action was taken against District Magistrates to send a strong message that this government will not spare even senior officials for any irregularities.

Ten junior officers were also suspended on Thursday.
