Asking Gram Pradhans to implement Government policies Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that an alert Pradhan can change the face of the village because the “resources he has under him are immense” and has the “potential to extend benefits of Government programmes to the masses.”

He was addressing people in village Bandhera in Sitapur district during Swaraj Gram Yoajana campaign here on Friday.

“I have no hesitation to say that MPs and MLAs are envious of gram pradhans. The opportunities they have to usher in development in villages is immense. They have resources in form of funds. They are the last chain of the delivery system. If they work judiciously they can change the face of gram sabha in no time,” Chief Minister said.

During his visit he also inaugurated or laid foundation of projects worth `325 crore. The majority of the schemes are meant for development of infrastructure which include construction of roads.

He said that the UP Government in collaboration Central Government has launched many welfare schemes.  All these schemes are meant for the uplift of the poor or the BPL families.

The target of both the Governments is to ensure that benefits should reach the last man. This is the spirit of antodaya and the Government is following it in totality, he said.

Yogi spoke at length about Ujjawala yojana, subhagya yojana, pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, ODF, , Aayushman Bharat Yojana, pension schemes, crop loan waiver schemes, Mukhya Mantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana, Mudra yojana and Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojana.

When many of the villagers told CM that they have been denied the benefits of the Government schemes, he asked the district magistrate to ensure that names of all the eligible beneficiaries are included in the list.

The high point of our Government is that we have provided houses to poor.
