The police have arrested two youth for attacking a policeman attached to the Intelligence Wing of the Chennai city police.
On Friday, policeman Rajasekar prevented a three-member gang from attacking two unidentified persons near Maduvankarai in Guindy.
Irked by his intervention, the gang questioned him. When he told them he was a policeman, the gang thrashed him. One of them snatched Mr. Rajasekar’s gold chain, weighing three sovereigns.
He was treated at the Government Hospital in Chromepet and based on his complaint, the St. Thomas Mount police arrested Venkatesan, 30, and Chandran, 30, of Sowri Street in Alandur. The third accused Naveen is absconding.
