Training Programme started to improve security cover of VIPs

In a bid to further improve security cover of VVIPs/VIPs in the State, Haryana CID has started a programme for imparting close protection training to police personnel that would help in providing smart police protection to such individual especially during their close interaction with large number of people.

The training programme, which was launched by the CID under the guidance of IGP CID, Anil Rao and under the supervision of SP Security, Rahul Sharma on June 4 at Commando Training Centre in Panchkula, concluded on Friday.

While addressing the participants during valedictory session, IG CID, Anil Rao said that it had been organized with twin purpose of how should police personnel be deployed in the present scenario, keeping in view the safety and security of an individual, besides to ensure that general public does not face any trouble with that security circle.

He said that 57 police personnel from five districts were imparted training about close protection team.

Apart from protection in crowded area, training about the use of weapon as well as how a terrorist attack can be dealt with had also been given to them.

The police personnel were also informed about maintenance and use of modern weapons like pistol, carbine, AK 47, he added.

After being evaluated, a team of district Jhajjar had secured first place in the training programme. Instructions regarding the security arrangements were also given to police personnel and they have also been encouraged to constantly try to learn something new and be aware towards their duty, said Rao.

During the programme, Head Constable Mukesh Kumar, Constable Kulbir Singh and Constable Vikas, all from Jhajjar had bagged first, second and third position in indoor and outdoor test. Apart from this, Inspector Kuldip and Constable Vikar Kumar were declared all rounder first in indoor and outdoor test respectively.
