A 16-year-old boy was found murdered in a field in Rohini’s Narela on Friday morning, the police said.
Multiple stab injuries
The police control room received a call regarding a body with multiple stab injuries lying in a field. A team was sent to the spot and the body was taken to a mortuary.
The deceased was identified as Vikas Bhardwaj, a resident of Pana Paposia is Narela. His family was informed about the incident and the body was handed over to them after post-mortem.
“The deceased lived with his family in Pana Paposia village. He had recently cleared Class XI and worked at a footwear shop during vacations. Vikas was reported missing on Sunday evening,” said a police officer.
The victim had left the shop claiming he was going home.
After he failed to reach home till late at night, his family went looking for him. Following a futile search, they reported him missing at Narela police station.
Unidentified youth
Vikas was last spotted with an unidentified youth, the police said.
“We have registered a case under IPC Section 302. The boy was stabbed to death. The case is under investigation,” the police officer added.
