Thane: Thane city recorded a success rate of 84 per cent in the Class X exam with as many as 22,534 of the 26,835 students clearing their exams.
While boys secured a pass percentage of 81 this year, 88 per cent of girls cleared their SSC exams thereby pushing the city’s success rate to 88 per cent.

Of the 274 schools affiliated to the state board, as many as 52 recorded a cent percent success rate with all of its students clearing their Class X exams this year. While a number of schools including St. John the Baptist School, Shreerang Vidyalaya, Naupada’s Saraswati Vidyalaya, etc, missed cent percent results by a wafer-thin margin, these 52 schools, including St. Xaviers High School, A K Joshi High School, Holy Cross Convent School, etc successfully recorded a cent percent result.

Principal of St. Xaviers School, Janhavi Rai, said, “All through the year we ensure an all-round development of students. We do this by identifying the students’ weaknesses and strengths and then work on them.”

Academicians believe that with a little extra effort and an encouraging and supportive school and family environment, students will be able to fare better.

“Schooling is about providing students with support, freedom and opportunities to excel not only in academics, but also in extra-curricular activities. We will also plan a worksheet solving model that will help them with their exam preparations,” said Rupa Dey, principal of Shreerang Vidyalaya.
