Recent Euclid graduate Caisja Chandler was a double individual winner during the Midwest Meet of Champions on June 9 at Michigan State.

MMOC is a showcase for graduating high school seniors from Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.

Chandler went 1-2 in the 100-meter dash with Beachwood’s Mia Knight. Chandler recorded a time of 11.84 seconds, and Knight, Ohio’s Division II state champion in the event, went 11.93.

Chandler also won the 200, in which she was D-I state runner-up, with a 24.37, and along with Knight ran a leg on Team Ohio’s winning 4x100 (47.18).

Other area individual-event placers were Mayfield’s Bobby Casey, who was fourth in the long jump (22-6), and Geneva’s Deidra Marrison, who was fifth in the pole vault (11-6). Casey was third in D-I long jump at state, and Marrison was second in D-I pole vault.

Team Ohio won the girls title with 246 points, and the boys were third with 158.
