Bhopal: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the function -hum chu lenge asmaan in Bhopal on Friday while reply to a query of a class 12 pass out Sayna Ahamad announced that MP government will provide laptops to the students who will score 75 percent or above in their 12th board exam.
She had scored 84 percent marks and belongs to general category and according to scheme; she cannot get the laptop as the scheme only provides laptops to SC/ST category students who have scored marks more than 75 percent marks. The reservation criteria have been lifted through the announcement.
CM faced the same question during the first phase of the programme on May 21 by Vikkey Sharma who has scored 80 percent marks- he asked CM, “My friend who belongs to SC category has scored 77 percent and is getting the laptop, then why I am not getting one after scoring 80% marks.” His question in a live programme created an awkward situation for the CM.
The second phase of the counselling programme aimed at providing career guidance to the students who have scored less than 70 percent marks was organised jointly by the school education department, higher education department, tribal welfare department, technical education department and skill development department.
He also declared that a career counselling centre will be established in excellence school in every district headquarters. The CM also informed that separate arrangement will be made for those who are interested in joining defence forces.
