Saturday's State Softball Championships

MADISON, Wis. (WSAW) -- DIVISION 2
Mosinee vs Whitnall

DIVISION 3
Tomahawk fell to Poynette in the D3 championship game 2-0.

Hatchets starting pitcher Rachel Dallman went seven innings with two earned runs and eight strike outs.

"It's a really great feeling being able to play in the championship game," Dallman said. "That was our goal for a very long time now. Even though we didn't come out on top, it was still amazing to end our senior year, for all the other seniors too, to come out with a medal and go home knowing that we played our best."

"You know what, they have everything to be proud of,"Tomahawk head coach John Larson said. "It was a tremendous tournament series, tremendous run. They believed in what we set as our goal, to win a state championship. We got here, we gave ourselves an opportunity, and we're gonna remember this one."

DIVISION 4
Thorp struggled Satuday morning facing Horicon in the D4 final game, losing 11-0.

"We have nothing to hang our heads about. I couldn't be more proud of them. That's what I told them afterwards," Thorp head coach Kurt Rhyner said. "The first time out, we kinda were rattled a little bit. The only thing I told them, I just needed a breather there for them. I said, have the courage to have fun. I'm very proud of the girls and how much they enjoyed this. That was the most enjoyable part of this. Overall, it was an outstanding experience for all our kids. I could not be more proud."

"We all make mistakes, it happens. We learn from out mistakes and we learn to move on from them," Thorp senior Elektra Zurakowski said.
