Director Venu Udugula, who earned immense critical acclaim with his debut film Needi Naadi Oke Katha, is all set to join forces with actor Sai Pallavi for a big-budget extravaganza. Set in the rural backdrop of Telangana, the film is titled Virata Parvam 1992. “It’s an emotion-packed intense period love story which is layered with socio-political commentary.

The film addresses the issues that were never explored in Indian cinema and will be shot in Guntur and several popular towns of Telangana. All the crew of Needi Naadi… will be retained for this film,” says a source. The movie will present Sai Pallavi in an altogether different avatar as a woman living in a rural area in the 90s.

Produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri, the team is considering actor Sharwanand for the lead role. “The makers have initiated talks with Sharwa, who is yet to go through the script. The actor will be meeting the director soon after he gets some free time from his hectic shooting schedules,” the source adds. If all goes well, Virata Parvam 1992 will mark Sharwa’s second collaboration with Sai Pallavi after Padi Padi Leche Manasu.
