Kubrat Pulev of Bulgaria felt he was next in line to fight Dillian Whyte.

Joseph Parker's fight against Dillian Whyte has angered Bulgarian heavyweight Kubrat Pulev, who said he was expecting his opportunity.

Pulev said on his website that Whyte and his team, headed by Eddie Hearn, were "bullshit artists" after announcing the Brit will fight New Zealand's Parker in July.

The Bulgarian Pulev and Whyte were ordered in April by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) to fight to decide the challenger for the IBF world heavyweight title held by Anthony Joshua.

Pulev had expected to take on Whyte in Sofia in August.

"I was expecting from Dillian Whyte and his team to run away from the fight, but I didn't expect from them to be such bullshit artists," Pulev said on his website.

"They are extreme manipulators and plain schizophrenics. I can't believe what I'm hearing and what a tricky way they chose to run away from the fight in Bulgaria."

Parker, who lost his WBO title earlier this year to Joshua on a unanimous points decision in a title unification bout in Cardiff, will fight Whyte in London on July 28.

"I'm really looking forward to fighting Dillian," Parker said this week.

"He's got a big mouth and says some funny things - and he's also highly entertaining in the ring. It'll be an incredible fight. There's no doubt about that."

Whyte bears the moniker 'The Body Snatcher' and is promising "blood, pain and a knockout".

"Parker's a good fighter but he didn't show much courage against Joshua," he said.

"Hopefully he'll be a bit more adventurous and come to have a fight against me."

Pulev was meant to fight Joshua in October last year but withdrew after suffering a shoulder injury. Joshua, who also holds the WBA, IBO and WBO titles, beat his replacement Carlos Takam.

Known as The Cobra, Pulev losing to Wladimir Klitschko in Hamburg on a fifth-round knockout when he challenged for the IBF world heavyweight title in 2014.
