NEW DELHIew Delhi: According to the data released by Delhi University, the maximum number of applications to colleges has come from Delhi, followed by Uttar Pradesh and
Bihar. A high numbers of applications have also come from northeastern states like
Assam,
Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh.
While DU received 1,38,450 applications from Delhi, states like Uttar Pradesh
Haryana and Bihar had 76,042, 45,542 and 16,838 applications, respectively.
Northeastern states like Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and others also saw high numbers with 2,737 applications coming from Assam. This, according to DU officials, was because of attempts by DU to reach out to students of the northeast.
Online registration for admission to merit-based and entrance-based undergraduate courses began on May 15, with DU receiving 2,78,574 applications till the last day of registration on June 7. The first cutoff list is expected between June 19 and 21.
