Driver Narrowly Avoids Nasty Two-Car Accident Right In Front Of Him

When the weather isn’t ideal for driving, decreasing your speed might not always be enough to keep you safe. You also need to watch out for other drivers who might lose control of their cars in your vicinity.

Such a dire scenario unfolded in New Zealand, between Auckland and Whangarei, in the Smeatons Hill area, as the driver of the dashcam vehicle found himself having to steer around a crash that occurred right in front of him.

Here’s what happened in his own words:

“I decided not to overtake the silver Nissan in front due to the poor weather and road conditions and previous serious accidents on this section of road. A grey Ford Falcon traveling south lost control on the wet road and spun into the car in front of me. The drivers of both cars were heavily trapped and badly injured and required cutting out by the local Fire Brigade. Both drivers have since recovered.”

While we’re not sure why the driver of the Ford lost control in the first place, odds are it had something to do with his speed and the road being slippery. Regardless, the good news is that both parties involved in the collision have recovered from their injuries.

As for the cammer, he’s one lucky guy, that’s for sure. Earlier in the video, he can be seen trailing the Nissan SUV at a much closer distance than he did right before the crash.
