NissanConnect – What you need to know

NissanConnect was first introduced in 2017 and was built specifically for the Indian market by the Renault Nissan Technology Business Centre India (RNTBCI). The idea was to allow the owner of a car to be connected through their car and provide a platform that works as an additional measure of safety and security. The system comes factory fitted with an embedded telematics control unit and an inbuilt SIM in every car which allows for this heightened level of connectivity.

Key features of NissanConnect include SoS, track & trace, tow-away alert, vehicle low battery alert, automated impact alert including harsh acceleration alert, sudden turn alert and sudden brake alert, curfew alert and geofencing. In addition to those safety features, the system also gives you access to information such as idling run time, smart drive score, quick reference videos, intelligent route guidance and various other parameters linked to vehicle telematics. There is also a ‘Way to my car’ feature that allows you to find your car quickly in a parking lot in case you forgot where you parked it!

Nissan Customers can download the app, which incidentally is available on both Android and iOS platforms. Once downloaded, the customer has to contact their nearest Nissan dealer to activate the app when they purchase their new Nissan car.
