'Major delays' on Brisbane train line after vehicle hits boom gate

Delays are expected for rail commuters along the Cleveland line after a vehicle hit a boom gate on Friday morning.

A Queensland Rail spokeswoman said a vehicle struck a boom gate at Coorparoo about 7.50am.

She said the strike had affected the overhead power lines and “major delays” were expected.

By 8.30am, trains had resumed in both directions, with delays of about 20 minutes expected for commuters, according to Translink.

Paramedics were on scene at the corner of Clarence Street and Cavendish Road.
