Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal has said, harnessing the huge potential of food processing sector can play a critical role in improving the farmers' life. Addressing Future AgriTech Summit in New Delhi today, Mrs Badal said, India has the capacity to bring significant changes in food security not just in the country but also in the world.

The Minister said despite the inevitable challenges fought by the farmers like drought, lack of technical knowledge and the means to be able to upgrade themselves in scientific ways, India happens to be one of the largest producers of the food in the world.

She said government policies, corporate players and start-ups act as a catalyst to evolve with the demands of the food industry and the farmers of the country needs to move from farming to agro-processing.
