Protests by Congress MLA Satish Jarkiholi’s supporters against his non-inclusion in the State Cabinet entered the third day in Belagavi on Friday.

They formed a human chain at Rani Channamma Circle and stopped traffic for a few minutes. They also shouted slogans against former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara, and AICC leaders Ahmed Patel and K.C. Venugopal.

Later, some of his followers huddled up in a private hotel and decided to vent their anger against the party. Arun Katamble, Zilla panchayat vice-president, told presspersons that around 15 ZP members and 28 taluk panchayat members would send their resignations to party president G. Parameshwara in protest. He also said they would gather in their leader’s Belagavi home on Saturday and send their resignations en masse to the Regional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner.
