Ronald Edward Hicks of Lynchburg, our very dear loved one, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018, at the age of 83. Born on March 11, 1935, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Wilmer L. Hicks and Martha L. Hicks. Ronald was retired from Archer Creek Foundry with forty years of service and was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, sang in the choir, and also sang many solos. Preceding him in death were a baby son; a granddaughter; and his brother, Charles W. Hicks. In addition to his wife of 60 years, Ann M. Hicks, he leaves behind two children, two grandchildren, one great grandchild; a brother, Robert L. Hicks; a sister, Carolyn H. Garraghty; a sister-in-law, Margie Trent and husband, Sam, as well as many more family and friends. A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2018, at Gethsemane Baptist Church, with the Rev. Carlton Duck officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 4 until 5 p.m. Friday prior to the service. The family would like to thank The Carrington for the love and care they provided for Ronnie.
