Tirupur: A 19-year-old migrant labourer from Odisha, suspect in a murder case, was arrested by Tirupur police on Thursday.
Biju Ham Ram Naik was caught by Government Railway Police from Chennai Central. “He was working at a stone crushing unit in Paranjervali village near Kangeyam. He got the job with the help of his uncle Santhosh Naik, 25, who was working in the same unit. They were staying together in a house along with Kaliya, another migrant from Odisha,” a police officer said.

“As Santhosh took advantage and did not hand over the wages to Biju, they used to fight. Santhosh was found dead in a pool of blood in the house on June 5. The two roommates were missing. As the district rural police alerted the railway police, GRP managed to catch Biju from Chennai-Dhanbad Express minutes before it was to start from Chennai Central. Kaliya managed to escape,” the officer said.

Biju told police that he murdered Santhosh using a grindstone.

Kangeyam police have registered a case.
