Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy helps mother with amputed arm get job

BENGALURU: Joy of a young mother from Davangere knew no bounds after meeting Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy during his janata darshan programe held outside his house in JP Nagar on Thursday.
Shyla from Davanagere, who has had an arm amputed, bravely carried her child in her other arm and stood to meet the newly elected CM.

On seeing her, Kumaraswamy asked her why she had come and she told him that she had lost her right arm in a road accident and had learnt typewriting after the accident. Shyla told the CM that she was unable to find a job or get disablity pension. Kumaraswamy then asked her to visit Vidhana Soudha and he called up officials in Davangere and asked them to provide her with a temporary job in her hometown. He also asked officials to ensure that she gets her disability pension.

“We have numerous options to help people who are within the system. However, to help people from unorganised sector, the government should be ready to stretch its rules and regulations,” the CM said adding that there are thousands of people like this who are suffering silently in our state.“We have to initiate a system to reach out to such people and provide employment to them,” he said.
