The district administration has asked officials to be prepared to meet exigencies that may arise during the South West Monsoon.
At a review meeting held here on Friday, District Collector T.N. Hariharan asked officials of all departments to take precautionary measures, said a release.
He asked the State Highways and Coimbatore Corporation to ensure that water do not stagnate on roads, repair works were carried out immediately, and ensure supply of potable water.
He asked the Revenue Department and local body officials to create an awareness among those living on river banks, and tank bunds, keep a stock of sandbags. Tangedco officials were asked to repair faulty power lines.
Public Works Department officials were asked to expedite the dredging works. Public Distribution System officials should ensure adequate stock of essential commodities.
Health Department officials should ensure adequate quantity of medicines in primary health centres.
