This is the 2018 Nissan Kicks. Yep, the name is plural.
The Kicks joins a crowded sub-compact crossover segment that includes the Toyota C-HR, Honda HR-V and the Ford EcoSport.
You can see a bit of the now-dead Nissan Juke in the sloping roofline and short wheelbase.
Under the hood is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, good for 125 horsepower and 115 pound-feet of torque.
Behind the rear seats is 25.3 cubic feet of space, enough for all our video gear.
The interior suffers from some hard plastic materials, which is no where more apparent than in the front door panels.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all but the base S trim.
The Kicks comes in front-wheel drive only, and we don't expect an all-wheel drive version to make an appearance.
The Kicks is available in seven colors and five two-tone combinations.
