KANPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath held chaupals and interacted with village heads under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan in Mainpuri and Unnao districts on Thursday.
While interacting with locals of Mainpuri, the stronghold of Samajwadi Party (SP), Yogi said: "I have come here to see whether you are getting benefits of schemes launched by BJP government or not."

Yogi added that nearly 9,000 toilets have been constructed in the district till May 2018. "Those who have not yet been allotted houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, will soon find their names in the list," he said.

He also spoke to the villagers about Swacch Bharat campaign under which only 10,199 toilets were constructed during the previous regime. "However, during the present government, in just a span of one year, 86,091 toilets have been build," he said.

Making a veiled attack on SP, the CM said, "Not a single house was allotted during the previous government, but during one-year rule of BJP, 577 houses have been built for underprivileged people of the district."
