1 killed, 4 injured after sudden surge in voltage in houses

KOTA: In a freak accident, a sudden surge in the voltage in the houses here led to the death of a man and injured four others today, police said.

The incident occurred in Dabar village at 6.30 am, police official Nand Lal said. The deceased was identified as Satyaprakesh Bairwa (24), while the injured were identified as Rajendra Bagari (27), Ramesh Bagari (32), Rekha (14) and Manish (5).

The deceased and the injured were staying in three separate houses in the same locality of the village, he said.

The injured are undergoing medical treatment at a community health centre in Sultanpur town and their condition is stated to be normal, he added. The body was handed over to the family members after postmortem.
