Flap Malfunction triggers emergency landing of Southwest flight

Flight 1479 had taken off from San Antonio was heading for Chicago when it suddenly experienced a flap malfunction. The flight had been carrying 143 passengers at that point of time.

 

One of the passengers on the airplane said that the airplane circled for about an hour to burn off fuel and thereafter landed perfectly safely in Austin.

 

Southwest mentioned that they are removing the airplane from services for further inspection and they mentioned that they are working their best to accommodate the customers onto an alternative airplane.

 

There have been no reports of any injuries as a consequence of the emergency landing of Southwest Airlines aircraft.
