To iron out the differences and any divergent views between the two ahead the 2019 parliamentary polls, the SAD-BJP combine has set up a six-member coordination panel including the leaders of both the parties.

“SAD and BJP agreed to form a high-level coordination committee comprising senior leaders from the two sides to ensure close working together of the parties at every level,” said the SAD president Sukhbir Badal, after the meeting.

At the same time, the BJP national president Amit Shah has asked the leaders of both the parties to work jointly and campaign as if they are contesting on all 13 seats. Out of 13 seats in Punjab, SAD contests on 10 while BJP fields its candidates on three.

Besides, Shah has also asked all the leaders to start the Jan Sampark Abhiyan with the SAD leaders.

Besides, he asked for holding the press conferences in their own constituencies and make the people aware about the Narendra Modi government’s welfare schemes, distributing party literature among the people.

He asked all the party wings — Yuva Morcha, SC Morcha, Kisan Morcha, Mahila Morcha, among others — to start the Jan Sampark Abhiyan, and add as many as people with the party.

All through the day, Shah held a series of meetings with the leaders of both the SAD and the BJP, comprising a detailed meeting with the Punjab BJP core group members and the incharges of 13 Lok Sabha seats of the state, after holding a closed-door meeting with the SAD leadership.

Shah underlined that the party has a very less time in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, and everyone, from top leaders to the grass root level workers, should get ready for the elections.

He also asked the party leaders to retort to Congress’ bad publicity or statements by holding press conferences.
