Proud of changes taking in Hollywood, says George Clooney

In a subtle to nod to movements like MeToo and Time's Up, has said that is "proud" of the long "overdue" changes taking place in Hollywood.

The "Michael Clayton" star also thanked his parents, calling them "two of the most ethical people I know. Their example was always due north."

Talking about Amal, said, "I thought you couldn't have it all. I thought if you had a successful career you couldn't have one great love and then I met Amal."

Amal, who married Clooney in 2014 and shares two kids -- daughter, Ella, and son, with the actor, also spoke about her husband.

"Coming here I knew there would be lots of people who could speak to George's talent," she said.

"So I thought I should say a few words about his character. He is a gentleman in every sense of the word and a way that seems so rare these days and perhaps outdated. Everyone who knows him will tell you he has not forgotten his manners. On every set I visit his crews tell me he stands up for the most vulnerable," she added.

Other speakers included Murray, Richard Kind, and and former sent congratulatory messages via video.
