Mentha oil prices surge 3% on higher demand

Mentha prices surged 3 per cent to Rs 1,258.60 per kg in futures market today after participants raised bets on increase in demand from consuming industries against restricted arrivals from the producing belts.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha for delivery in July contract rose Rs 36.60, or 3 per cent, to Rs 1,258.60 per kg, clocking a business volume of 188 lots.

The for this month delivery traded higher by Rs 36.30, or 3 per cent up, at Rs 1,248.60 per kg with a trading volume of 846 lots.
