Student excluded from James Cook High School over bullying incident

One of the students involved in last week's bullying incident at James Cook High School appeared in front of the Board of Trustees on Thursday.
One of the bullies responsible for sending a 16-year old boy to hospital will not be allowed to return to south Auckland's James Cook High School.
The 16-year old boy was knocked unconscious on May 28 after being tripped and punched by a group of students.
One boy was suspended following the incident while another was stood down.
On Thursday evening the boy who was stood down appeared in front of the James Cook Board of Trustees to decide if he would be allowed to return to the school.

James Cook High School Principal Grant McMillan confirmed that as a result of the meeting the student had been excluded from the school.
Excluded is the term used for expelled students who are under 16 years old.
The mother of the boy who was assaulted, Mantel Dickson, told Stuff on Thursday her son would not be returning to school until the boys involved were excluded.
"I'd be mad if those kids were allowed back because my son doesn't feel safe with them there."
Another boy was suspended over the bullying incident and McMillan said he is still being "dealt with".
