First LS member from Vizianagaram K S Tilak dies at 98

fighter and member of the first Lok Sabha, Kandaala Subrahmanya Tilak, died here today, sources close to his family said.

He was 98.

Tilak, who took part in India's struggle including the Salt Satyagraha, was elected to the first Lok Sabha in 1952 from Vizianagaram constituency.

He died of old age, the sources said.

Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over Tilak's death.

In a condolence message, the said Tilak led the struggle in the north region and inspired the people.

Tilak's services to the nation would remain etched in history, Naidu said.
