If you go back far enough, most pickup trucks equipped for towing sported an extended and often chromed 2-level side, rear view mirror assembly. Many of today’s new and slightly used pickup trucks come standard equipped with a pull out mirror mount extension for trailer towing. That’s cool, but what about seeing objects to the side and behind your rig, below the field of vision?

View Assist LLC of Myrtle Beach, N.C. presents an affordable replacement car or truck mirror that enables a vastly improved backup and towing field of vision without electronics.

So, what is a two-axis mirror?

Looking to the photo above, what your viewing in the main mirror, is a the field of vision directly behind the vehicle. In the outside, adjustable convex mirror, we view the pavement to the rear and below the field of vision. Anyone that’s backed over a kids bicycle in the driveway, or obsessed about a dragging safety chain while towing a trailer will appreciate this feature. I actually prefer the two-axis mirror to an automated mirror downturn when backing out the driveway. Also, the angle of trajectory is infinitely adjustable.

"Spotter" Toro 1 available in a limited yet growing selection

Available in a widening selection of car and light truck applications, Myrtle Beach based View Assist LLC markets a very attractive, and easily installed Two-Axis mirror. I ordered a right and left heated mirror set for my aging yet faithful GMC Envoy - assuming that the power and heated mirror assembly on my midsize SUV was compatible with the GMC Silverado lineup. Wrong!

None the less, I discovered that the“Spotter mirror” is packaged beautifully, comprehensive and easy as to replacing the worn O.E.M. side mirror. There’s nothing cheap here as to construction and packaging. All the way down the the form fitted, jewelry case-like form fitted slide-out-box, and included clip-wiring connections.

Yes, the replacement mirror does come with easy to install instructions. However, the available selection is limited to select models, although expanding. If in doubt as to model compatibility, check Vista Assist's company website for available product and pricing information here.
