Mumbai: Worli police arrested a 48-year-old for killing his brother after they got into the brawl. The accused killed his 41-year-old brother after the former splashed water on his face while he was asleep.
According to DNA, the deceased was identified as Dinesh Gupta (41), who ran a dairy products agency. The arrested was identified as Rajesh Gupta (48), who runs a food stall. The incident took place on Wednesday around 1.30 am, Dinesh came home in the intoxicated state.
Worli Police Officer told the leading daily, “Both the brothers did not have a cordial relationship. On a fateful night, Dinesh saw Rajesh sleeping in the house, brought water in a utensil and splashed it on Rajesh twice. Rajesh woke up angrily and after a heated argument, he picked up a sharp object and hit Dinesh.”
The deceased’s wife Pushpa, who was present at the house, was completely unaware of the incident until she saw her husband’s body lying in a pool of blood. After hearing her cries, neighbours rushed for help. Then, they rushed Dinesh to the nearby hospital where he was declared dead. Later, the police arrested Rajesh from their residence.
