‘Telugu Desam leaders using abusive language against Modi’

BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana on Thursday called on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and complained him against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his party leaders for making what he called irresponsible remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central government.

Mr. Lakshminarayana along with senior BJP leaders, including former Union Minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad.

The BJP leaders demanded that criminal cases be booked against Minister for Tourism Akhila Priya for her remarks against Mr. Modi. They also sought disqualification of all MLAs and MLCs who had crossed over to the TDP, under the provisions of Anti-Defection Law.

Andhra Pradesh State Planning Board vice-chairman C. Kutumba Rao should also be removed from his post for making baseless allegations against the Union government, they demanded.

“Ever since the TDP withdrew from the Union government, the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues have been using abusive language against the Union government and the Prime Minister,” Mr. Lakshminarayana told the Governor.
