A look at Bentley’s latest launch in India – the Bentayga V8 SUV – worth Rs 3.78 crore

Exclusive Motors, the official partner of the Bentley Motors has launched Bentley Bentayga V8 for the Indian market. One of the five models of Bentayga series, V8 is priced at Rs 3.78 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

The Bentayga series is part of Bentley's premium luxury SUV range that included the top of the line and heavier Bentayga, Bentayga Mulliner, Bentayga Diesel - which has over 1,000 km range on a full tank, Bentayga V8 and the upcoming Bentayga Hybrid which the company claims is the world’s first luxury plug-in SUV hybrid.

Design wise, the Bentayga V8 shares the same sleek lines as the other models in the Bentayga range, but adds some distinctive features such as a black and chrome radiator matrix grille and two twin-quad tailpipes. The interior cabin is handcrafted with seats available in five colour options.

Unlike Bentayga which sports a 6.0-litre W12 petrol engine, the V8 has a comparatively smaller 4.0-litre, a twin-turbocharged engine which produces 549hp and 770Nm of torque, which is down on the W12 by 59hp and 130Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission system.

The Bentayga V8 engine takes the 2,400 kg car to 100 kmph from standing position within 4.5 seconds, though taking 0.4 seconds more than W12 engine. The V8 engine can travel to a top speed of 290 km. The maximum range of the car is 746 km with a full tank of 85 litres, the company claims.

Inside the cabin, the five-seater SUV includes 8" Touch-Screen Infotainment with 60GB HDD, Navigation, Voice Control with Text-to-Speech, AMI, CD, MP3, SD cards, audio system with 10 speakers.

The car is Rs 34 lakh cheaper than the W12 variant. In the market, it will compete against soon-to-be-launched 2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography facelift, and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan which will also debut later in the market priced around Rs 2.185 crore.
