A Hotel California Brexit?

You’ve heard of hard Brexit, soft Brexit, even a red, white and blue Brexit. Now we are told we might get a ‘Hotel California’ Brexit.

The Eagles’ 1977 rock opus is filled with surreal characters and bizarre claims over which fans have puzzled for years – not unlike some of Theresa May’s more gnomic pronouncements.

According to the lyricist Glenn Frey, it’s a song about “being caught in a disturbing web from which you may never escape.”

But it’s an apt comparison in deeper ways than one.
