BHUBANESWAR:Online admissions to Plus Two colleges in the State will be completed in two phases (first and second selection) while the admissions to vacant seats in the institutions would be done offline. This apart, no Common Application Form (CAF) charges will be collected from differently-abled and third gender applicants.

The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education has brought about a few changes in the e-admission process following decisions taken by the Students Academic Management System (SAMS) steering committee. It has been decided that the first and second selection of students will be done online after which admissions to balance seats would be conducted through offline submission of CAFs at the Students Resource Centres (SRCs). The cut-off marks for offline admissions will be three marks below the second cut-off.

Every student has to give a minimum of five choices during submission of CAF. This year, the facility for a student selected in lower preference of choice to opt out from the sliding up process has been removed. After completion of the admission process, any transfer due to exigencies will be allowed only if the student’s mark is above the second round cut-off mark in the destination college.

Merit list of first selection of candidates will be published on June 23. Admissions for the selected candidates will take place between June 25 and 28. Similarly, the second phase selection list would be declared on July 3 and admission process would take place at the colleges between July 4 and 6. Spot selection will be held against the vacant seats between July 15 and 17. Classes in the junior colleges will begin from July 19, said Sundarlal Seal, Director of higher secondary education.
