Frances Mehno, 94, of Baden, died Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in Rochester Manor. She was born October 8, 1923, in Economy, Pa., to the late Michael and Mary Kohanic Mutz. She was a meat wrapper for Giant Eagle and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Baden, where she was member of the Christian Mothers Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW). Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, John Mehno; four brothers, Michael, Joseph, Frank and Anthony Mutz; and five sisters, Veronica Modrack, Mary Botsko, Ann Nieman, Catherine Vlasic, and Agnes Trunzo. Surviving are a daughter, Linda (Richard) Soldressen of Ambridge; a son, John Mehno of Baden; two sisters, Margaret (Craig) Begley of Vanport, and Helen Piccirilli of Bowie, Md.; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where prayers will be offered Monday at 11 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
