RANCHI: The Ranchi division of South Eastern Railways, in a letter to the Northern Railways (NR), said few of their air-conditioned coaches of the Ranchi-New Delhi Rajdhani Express and Ranchi-New Delhi Sampark Kranti Express have apparently gone 'missing'.
SER requested the NR to return the coaches which have gone missing. The railway officials, however, refused to disclose the exact number of coaches which have been detached from the rake.

Coaches can be detached from a rake due to technical, electrical and other errors, senior officials of SER division said. Sanjoy Ghosh, chief public relations officer of SER, told TOI, "A few coaches of the Ranchi-New Delhi Rajdhani Express and Jharkhand Sampark Kranti Express were detached from the rake in New Delhi after they developed problems. As its result, old coaches were included in the rakes."

He added, "The division has written to the NR requesting the reinstatement of the coaches after they are repaired."

The SER had requisitioned for new Link Hoffman Busch coaches to the Railway Board for the premier trains which originate from Ranchi stations following the complaints from passengers and politicians.
